Kiss the Complications Goodbye with Special Nursing of your Baby

All babies are not born with the pink of their health. Due to the augment of health problems, many women face complications during their pregnancy. This result in preterm birth or baby affected with disease. But you need not lose your heart as these complications can be tackled with many preventive measures.

Jaundice affected baby

Jaundice is quite common in new born babies. You can notice the yellowing of her skin and colour of the eyes. This is caused by the excess of bilirubin that is presented in blood. Since this bilirubin level is properly monitored by doctors frequently, a baby does not need to be treated in a major way. But sometimes a baby is separated by the mother for its proper examination under phototherapy. In such cases breast feeding or any supplement of fluid is often forbidden. But as a matter of fact, doctors have negated this notion and encourage mother to feed a baby even during the treatment.

Excess of spitting

It is not unusual for a baby to spit most of the time she is fed. And this vomiting process also gets disappeared as the digestive system of a baby develops. However when your baby start spitting every time she is fed, it is important to examine if she has not entered the conditioned of gastroesophageal reflux (GER). This occurs when the opening of the stomach opens at wrong time resulting in thrusting the milk and other fluids back to the throat of a baby. The symptoms may appear as:

  • Spitting number of times or on every feeding.
  • Projectile vomiting when the fluid is squirted out of mouth.
  • Refusal of feeding by baby or pulling away form breast.
  • Choking and clogging.
  • Problems in swallowing.
  • Problem in breathing showing the symptoms of asthma, wheezing and pneumonia.

Some of babies suffering from GER may not need to undergo medical supervision but can be grumpy as they are not able to sleep properly at nights. Hence taking care of such babies is imperative to fight back the problem. Practice to feed her in small amount and don’t try to bulge her stomach. Take every measure to prevent vomiting. Hold your baby in upright position just after feeding. It helps the fluid to pass down to stomach preventing spitting. Consult your doctors and paediatricians in order to remove this complication with undue cautions.

Twin or multiple babies

Many conjectures draw into conclusion that the multiple babies’ delivery causes some complication either to mother or child or sometimes to both of them. But as a matter of fact, it is more beneficial for mother who is breast feeding her babies at one time. The benefits are:

  • Frequent or breast feeding all babies at one time helps her to release hormones that relax her.
  • It saves much money and time than to buy lactating products and also help in giving babies the essential nutrients that can only be attained by mother milk.
  • More suction can cause in more reflexive force that helps in the contraction of uterus after the delivery of multiple children.
  • By lactating number of times, the milk flow and supply of milk inside the body of mother also increases.
  • Regular latch- on of your baby to the nipple also prevents the sore nipples and other breast problems.

After delivering a baby, your baby becomes the primary concern. And nurturing her with great care becomes more cautious if she faces some problems in her initial days. Hence, your baby needs lot of more affection and tender care to surmount such complications.
